Fayetteville-Cumberland Parks and Recreation has received a $7,200 grant from the Arts Council of Fayetteville/Cumberland County to support the Independence Concert scheduled for Thursday, July 4 at Festival Park.
The gates will open at 6 p.m., with the concert starting at 7:30 p.m. The event will feature performances by the Fayetteville Symphonic Band, Fayetteville Symphony Orchestra, the 82nd Airborne Division Band, Cumberland Choral Arts, and Ayana Washington. Food truck vendors, a free children's area, and fireworks will also be part of the festivities. Skateboards, bicycles, personal tents or canopies are not permitted in the park. Only service animals will be admitted.
The concert is sponsored by PWC and presented by the City of Fayetteville and the Fayetteville Symphony Orchestra as part of holiday celebrations.
Project Support Grants aim to enhance access to arts, science, cultural, and historical programming in Cumberland County. These grants are awarded to nonprofit agencies demonstrating financial and administrative stability.
In 2023-2024, the Arts Council distributed over $1 million in grant funds and special allocations to artists, non-profit organizations, higher education institutions, and municipal offices in Cumberland County engaged in arts and cultural activities.
Grants and services provided by the Arts Council are partially funded through contributions from community partners and grants from the City of Fayetteville, Cumberland County, and the North Carolina Arts Council.
