FAYETTEVILLE, N.C.– The City of Fayetteville is excited to announce the opening of Senior Center East with a ribbon cutting ceremony scheduled for May 3 at 11 a.m. at 917 Washington Drive.
According to the report, the $9.2 million Senior Center East, a voter-approved Parks and Recreation Bond project, will cater to seniors aged 55 and older starting May 6. The facility boasts a range of amenities including a warm water pool, fitness and exercise room, racquetball courts, a multi-purpose room, library, lounge areas, locker rooms, billiards room, card room, and a kitchen.
Seniors will have the opportunity to engage in various physical and mental health programs and activities at the Center. Additionally, the facility will be open for community meetings and potential athletic competitions for seniors.
With an interior square footage of 15,360 and a covered patio of 2,850 square feet, the center is easily accessible to seniors and free of charge. In the future, seniors can utilize the Fayetteville Area System of Transit route 12 bus or arrange transportation through the FASTtrac! ADA service.
