FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. - In observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day on January 15th, the City of Fayetteville Government offices will be closed. Various city departments have released their holiday schedules for the day.
The Fayetteville Police Department has announced that their main police station front lobby and records unit located at 467 Hay Street will be closed on January 15th. However, they urge residents to report any suspicious activity or emergencies to 911. In addition, individuals can file a police report online or provide anonymous tips to help solve crimes by calling Crimestoppers at (910) 483-4877 or visiting p3tips.com.
The Solid Waste Division has modified their collection schedule for the day. Monday's garbage and yard waste will be collected on January 17th, while recycling will be collected on January 15th.
For travelers using the Fayetteville Regional Airport, please note that the Airport Administrative Offices will be closed on January 15th. For any inquiries regarding holiday travel or flight schedules, passengers are advised to contact their respective airlines directly. The Fayetteville Area System of Transit (FAST) will continue to operate on its regular schedule on Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
Meanwhile, the Fayetteville-Cumberland Parks and Recreation (FCPR) administrative offices will also be closed on January 15th. However, the recreation centers will be open on an abbreviated schedule from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Parks, trails, and green space areas will remain accessible to the public throughout the day.
