(Fayetteville, N.C.) – Fayetteville-Cumberland Parks and Recreation invites residents to a public meeting on June 22 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at Smith Recreation Center (1520 Slater Avenue). A potential Mazarick Park trail system which would connect the Park to surrounding neighborhoods and Fayetteville State University (FSU) will be discussed.

The public meeting will feature a brief presentation on options for park improvements and connections from Mazarick Park to surrounding areas including FSU on the east side of Glenville Lake. Parks and Recreation staff and consultants will be present to gather feedback on priority park connections. Snack and drinks will be provided.

Residents and property owners nearby are also encouraged to take a brief survey to help prioritize connections and park improvements at fayettevillenc.gov/mazaricksurvey Paper copies of the survey are available upon request.

This project builds on recent planning efforts including the Center City Parks and Trails Master Plan that envisions a connected system of enhanced parks and greenways between Mazarick Park, surrounding neighborhoods, Fayetteville State University, the Harvey F. Shaw Cross Creek Linear Park and Downtown Fayetteville.
