City of Raeford Police Department issued the following announcement on May 16.
We are heartbroken this morning to learn of the passing of retired Moore County Schools Police Chief Arthur Frye.
Arthur spent over 46 years of his life protecting and serving the people of Moore County. During his career, he was a hero to many. Arthur mentored many young police officers and deputies as he served with the Moore County Sheriff’s Office, the Aberdeen Police Department, and the Moore County Schools Police. He will be sorely missed.
Our thoughts and prayers are with his wife Pat and sons Stanley and Alan. Well done, good and faithful servant!
