County of Hoke issued the following announcement on May 9.
Hoke County Parks and Recreation will host the First Annual Color Run June 11, 2022 from 10am-1pm!!! Registration will be from 10am-11am, event and activities will follow. This event will be held at 211 Park (3195 Red Springs Rd, Raeford, NC 28376). The Color Run is a 5k run that you will run/walk at your own pace. The walk is a non-competitive event which is family friendly. All participants are encouraged to run/walk, but it's not mandatory. The walk is to promote healthiness and happiness by bringing the community together. Shirts will be provided for the first 200 participants that RSVP, after that participants are asked to wear a white shirt. Please scan the QR Code on the flyer to RSVP or call 910-875-4035 to RSVP. What to expect at a Color Run?
This is a FUN event. You will be around a lot of people dancing, workers throwing color and shine powder at you, and music. Although it's a 5K, it's a run, not a race. If you want to walk, walk.
What do I need for a Color Run?
· Bring a small sandwich bag for your cell phone
· Wear a bandana and sunglasses
· Bring a towel and baby wipes
· Get there early
· Take “Before and After” photos
· Run with your friends, your family, and/or your kids
