Stay tuned for the upcoming official announcement of the drop-in meeting scheduled for April 28th from 10-7 at the Town Hall located at 300 Ruth Street.
The public will be invited to drop-in throughout the day and speak to members of the Spring Lake Area Land Use Steering Committee, the Cumberland County Planning and Inspections Board, as well as the Town's elected officials and be able to offer feedback and suggestions prior to the future vision of Spring Lake and it's surrounding areas moving forward with the plan.
The Spring Lake Area Land Use Plan has been hard at work for some time now, and it is a joint effort with the Cumberland County Planning and Inspections Department as well as the Town of Spring Lake, and multiple Steering Committee members who worked together to give expert opinions, seek public input, and help set policies and lay the ground work that can help shape the future in regards to new developments, redevelopments, and giving the residents the chance to have opportunities close to where we live and work that may improve quality of life as well as the look and feel of our town and what we have to offer.
While area residents and businesses were notified through a bulk mailing targeting any areas included in the plan, a successful Open House was held for the public, a survey was compiled and offered online, and the numerous monthly meetings that were had by the Steering Committee and it's members, a draft has finally been completed.
The draft was prepared using data and input compiled from many different aspects that included, but weren't limited to, the county school system, recreational areas, healthcare, the military, Fort Bragg representatives, business owners, homeowners, property owners, agricultural, cultural, employers, tenants, people who work in Spring Lake, and the general public's input from the surveys and the open meetings and more.
