Spring Lake Police Department issued the following announcement on Apr. 14.
This week Spring Lake Police Department launched our "POP"s program. The program, Pastors on Patrol, is an interdenominational response to urban problems, engaging with people on the streets to care, listen, mentor, and promote dialogue. The members of "POP"s are not police officers, rather they are compassionate clergy assisting SLPD in any situation needed. Spring Lake PD's commitment is to promote positive police-citizen interactions, connecting relationships & bridging communication gaps one contact at a time.
Pastors partnering with us will need to complete an application/liability form available at The Spring Lake Police Dept. 300 Ruth Street Spring Lake Between 8-5pm. 910-436-0350
Training/Orientation Dates:
April 12th or 19th @6pm
Location: Town Hall Board Room 300 Ruth St. Spring Lake.
