CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE: Road Closures and Detours affect Downtown for NYE

City of Fayetteville issued the following announcement on Dec. 21. 

The City of Fayetteville announces road closures that will affect the downtown area near Festival Park on New Year’s Eve. Motorists are advised to seek alternate routes and follow any suggested detours.   

Ray Avenue—closed between Maiden Lane and Rowan Street 

  • 5 p.m. Friday December, 31, 2021 until 1 a.m. Saturday, January 1, 2022 
Mason Street—closed between Ray Avenue and Arch Street 

  • 5 p.m. Friday December, 31, 2021 until 1 a.m. Saturday, January 1, 2022 
Rowan Street (NC 24/210)—closed between Bragg Blvd/Murchison Road (NC 210) and Ray Avenue 

  • 6 p.m. Friday December, 31, 2021 until 1 a.m. Saturday, January 1, 2022 
  • Use alternate routes, such as US 401 Business (Martin Luther King Freeway) to Ramsey Street, to avoid the area during the closure. 
These roads will be closed for the Night Circus: A District New Year’s Eve Spectacular in Festival Park. Those interested in attending the event can access additional information online.
