Town of Spring Lake issued the following announcement on Aug. 25.
The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) recently approved the Cumberland-Hoke Regional Hazard Mitigation plan.
The plan is a long-term strategy that reduces the community's vulnerability to natural disasters. Its purpose is to identify, assess and lessen risks to better protect the people and property in Cumberland County from natural disasters.
