CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE: City To Reinstate Mask Requirement Aug. 2

Masksocialdistance

City of Fayetteville issued the following announcement on Aug. 3.

Beginning August 2, City of Fayetteville Government employees and people inside City buildings will be required to wear masks. Also, people who ride inside City vehicles will be required to wear masks. The City Manager’s Office distributed a memo via email to City employees Thursday to announce the change. Visitors are encouraged to schedule appointments before entering City Hall. Residents can access City Hall 24/7 at fayettevillenc.gov and obtain many services without meeting in person with City staff.

City leaders will monitor local, state and federal guidance to help prevent further spread of the Coronavirus. The City’s reinstated mask requirement is based on guidance released by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Particularly, of concern is the surge of the Delta variant. The City Manager encourages employees to get a COVID-19 vaccine, if they have not already done so. Employees can receive the vaccination during work hours, with their supervisor’s approval.

Signs will be posted in and outside City buildings to remind employees and visitors of the mask requirement. Additionally, it is important to communicate the following messages for City services.
