CUMBERLAND COUNTY PUBLIC LIBRARY: Enters Phase 2 of Reopening

Opencome

Cumberland County Public Library issued the following announcement on Jul. 12.

Cumberland County Public Library entered Phase 2 of its COVID-19 Recovery and Re-opening Plan Monday, July 12.

Phase 2 guidelines approved by Cumberland County Leadership emphasized providing access while maintaining staff and customer safety and expanding services.

Hours expanded to Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. at all locations.  Customers are able to browse stacks and use the computers at all locations like Phase 1.

Chairs are back out in locations and customers can check out laptops for use in the building.  Curbside service will continue by appointment only. Customers who wish to continue to use curbside can contact their branch to arrange for this service.

Phase 2 also includes a return to in-person programming, including weekly story times and outreach visits. With the return to in-person programming and an emphasis on safety, each location will have one story time per week with a maximum of 25 attendees.   Story time attendees ages 5 and up are strongly encouraged to wear masks per Center for Disease Control and local guidance.  Virtual programming will continue.

For more information concerning in-person and virtual programs at the library, please visit the library’s website at cumberlandcountync.gov/library or visit them on social media.
