Cumberland County issued the following announcement on June 18.
Cumberland County Animal Control is re-opening the animal shelter for pet adoptions by appointment only starting Monday, June 22. Please call 910-321-6852 to schedule an appointment.
Animal Control staff will be wearing masks and observing social distance protocol. Animal Control asks members of the public to adhere to face covering and social distancing recommendations while they are in the building.
Pet adoption fees are $28 through the end of July, thanks to a grant from PetSmart Charities.
Animal Control is also changing shelter hours for pet adoptions, stray animal intakes and owner claims. Hours for all three services will be 11 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, and 1 to 5 p.m. on Saturday. All services are by appointment only due to COVID-19 restrictions.
The Animal Shelter is located at 4704 Corporation Dr., Fayetteville. Go to co.cumberland.nc.us/animalcontrol for more information. Anyone looking for lost pets can view all animals located in the shelter at www.petharbor.com. If a lost pet is discovered on the website, call the shelter at 910-321-6852 to schedule a time to reclaim.
