Employers based in the Fayetteville Today publication area submitted 37 H-1B petitions during 2024, according to data provided by the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services via the H-1B Employer Data Hub. All of these petitions were approved.

Meanwhile, the Health Care and Social Assistance industry was the second largest contributor, filing 10 petitions (27% of the total), with an approval rate of 100%.

The Fayetteville Today publication area employers with the most petitions during 2024 included Alpha Academy, which filed 17 petitions with an approval rate of 100%, Cumberland County Hospital System, Inc. with nine petitions and an approval rate of 100%, and Fayetteville State University, which filed four petitions with an approval rate of 100%.

Compared to 2023, the Fayetteville Today publication area saw a 15.9% decrease in the number of H-1B petitions during 2024.

Despite this, family sponsorship remains the most common path to permanent residency, accounting for 63% of green cards issued in 2023.
