City closures and schedules for Good Friday

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. - City of Fayetteville Government offices will be closed Friday, March 29 in observance of Good Friday. Various city departments have announced their schedules for the holiday.

The Police Department stated that their "Main police station front lobby and records unit at 467 Hay Street will be closed March 29." They advised the public to report suspicious activity and emergencies to 911 and file police reports online. Anonymous tips can also be submitted to Crimestoppers.

The Solid Waste Division confirmed that "Friday’s garbage & yard waste will be collected March 29." Additionally, recycling will also be collected on the same day.

For the Fayetteville Regional Airport, it was announced that "Airport Administrative Offices will be closed March 29." Travelers were advised to contact airlines directly for questions regarding holiday travel and flight schedules.

The Fayetteville Area System of Transit (FAST) assured the public that they will "operate on a regular schedule on Friday, March 29 and Saturday, March 30." However, there will be no service on Easter Sunday, March 31.

In terms of recreation, the Fayetteville-Cumberland Parks and Recreation department disclosed that their "administrative offices will be closed March 29." Recreation Centers will have an abbreviated schedule from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., while parks, trails, and green spaces will remain open to the public.

Residents and visitors are encouraged to take note of these closures and schedules as they plan their activities around the upcoming Good Friday holiday on March 29.
