Town of Spring Lake issued the following announcement on Oct. 28.
This month, many families across North Carolina are receiving an installment of the advance Child Tax Credit federal payment, which provides them with up to half of their total credit and bolsters their income to meet immediate needs for children’s health and well-being.
Eligible families who filed a 2019 or 2020 tax return will automatically get the payments.
Between July and December 2021, eligible families will receive half of their Child Tax Credit payments in 2021 through monthly payments of up to $300 per child 5 years old or younger and up to $250 per child between 6 and 17 years old.
The second half will be received in 2022 once a family files a tax return. Go to getctc.org/en to find out if you are eligible for the payments and sign up to get them.
