The Fayetteville-Cumberland Human Relations Commission (FCHRC) is now accepting scholarship applications from high school seniors in Cumberland County. The application period will remain open until March 28th.
Students from high schools, private schools, and home schools who are graduating seniors and are in need of financial assistance to attend a two or four-year college or university are encouraged to apply. The FCHRC is offering an award amount of $1,000 to eligible students.
To be eligible for this scholarship, students must meet the following criteria:
- Reside in Cumberland County for at least one year prior to applying.
- Be a senior in a high school located in Cumberland County.
- Maintain a minimum unweighted GPA of 2.50 or better.
- Be admitted as a full-time student in an accredited course of study at a two or four-year college or university.

The FCHRC's mission is to promote equal opportunity and positive community relations in Fayetteville and Cumberland County. They strive to protect human and civil rights through the City's Human Relations Ordinance and by working collaboratively with residents, elected and appointed leaders, and individuals in the public, private, non-profit, and higher education sectors.
