Former radio personality Jeff 'Goldy' Goldberg has been selected as the host for the upcoming Fayetteville-Cumberland Human Relations (FCHR) 2024 Community Recognition Awards. The awards luncheon will take place on February 15 at 11 a.m. at the Cape Fear Botanical Garden in Fayetteville, North Carolina. This event aims to honor individuals and organizations that have made significant contributions to promoting positive human relations within the city and county.
Among the recipients of the Community Awards are Warren Johnson, who will receive the Youth Award, Donna Pelham, who will be recognized with the Educator Award, and Carl Pringle, who will receive the Humanitarian Award. Others include Tiffany Campbell, who will receive the Individual Award, the 82nd Airborne Division Equal Opportunity Office, which will be honored with the Military Award, and Raul Wallace from Divine Call Ministries, who will receive the Religious Award. Tickets for the awards luncheon are available for $35 at the FCHR Department, located at the Festival Park Building on 225 Ray Ave. Ste 100. They can be purchased from Monday to Friday between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. It is important to note that ticket sales have been extended until February 8 and that no tickets will be sold at the door.
The funds raised during the awards reception will be allocated to Human Relations scholarships. These scholarships are offered to eligible high school students in Cumberland County who are pursuing college degrees.
