FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. - The city of Fayetteville is seeking proposals from local nonprofits to address pressing community issues such as homelessness, mental health, youth engagement, and violence interruption. The city's Economic and Community Development department is actively looking for organizations that can help support the activities outlined in the 2020 - 2024 Consolidated Plan.

To support these initiatives, the city receives funding through the Community Development Block Grant (CDGB), HOME Investment Partnership (HOME), and Housing Opportunities for Persons With AIDS (HOPWA) programs. These funds are allocated to eligible activities that aim to serve low- and moderate-income residents.

Local nonprofits interested in participating can submit their proposals through the application portal available at FayettevilleNC.gov/ECD. The deadline for applications is January 28.

In order to gather feedback and allow residents to review the drafted Annual Action Plan, the city will be hosting four public meetings. These meetings will provide an opportunity for residents to voice their opinions on the proposed programs and services. The meeting dates and locations are as follows:

- Massey Hill Recreation Center on February 13 at 7 p.m.

- Smith Recreation Center on February 22 at 6 p.m.

- Westover Recreation Center on February 28 at 6 p.m.

- EE Miller Recreation Center on March 7 at 7 p.m.

The city encourages all residents to attend these meetings and actively participate in shaping the future of the community.

As the city of Fayetteville takes proactive steps to address critical issues, local nonprofits have a valuable opportunity to contribute to the well-being of the community. By leveraging the available funds and working together, these organizations can make a significant impact on the lives of low- and moderate-income residents.

"Proposals should address key community issues which support the activities identified in the 2020 – 2024 Consolidated Plan," said the city's Economic and Community Development department. This requirement ensures that the selected nonprofits are aligned with the city's strategic goals and priorities.

With the deadline for applications approaching, local nonprofits are encouraged to act swiftly and submit their proposals to FayettevilleNC.gov/ECD. This is a chance to not only secure funding but also make a difference in the lives of those in need.

The city of Fayetteville is eager to receive input from the community during the upcoming public meetings. By attending and voicing their opinions, residents can play an active role in shaping the programs and services that will be implemented in their neighborhoods.

It is clear that the city of Fayetteville is committed to addressing pressing community issues. Through partnerships with local nonprofits, these challenges can be tackled more effectively. The funding available through the CDGB, HOME, and HOPWA programs presents an opportunity for nonprofits to make a lasting impact on the lives of individuals and families in Fayetteville.

As the application deadline looms, local nonprofits are urged to seize this opportunity and submit their proposals. By doing so, they can contribute to the overall well-being and development of the community.
