Fayetteville, N.C. – The City of Fayetteville has announced its holiday closures and schedules for various city services in observance of the Christmas and New Year holidays.
The city government offices will be closed on December 25, December 26, and January 1. This closure includes the main police station front lobby and records unit at 467 Hay Street. However, residents are reminded to report all emergencies to 911 and can file a police report online. Additionally, anonymous tips to help solve crimes can be submitted to Crimestoppers by calling (910) 483-TIPS or visiting p3tips.com.
The Solid Waste Division will have adjusted collection schedules during the week of Christmas and New Year's Day. On December 25, Monday's household and yard waste will be collected on Wednesday, December 27. Monday's recycling will be collected on Tuesday, December 26, while Tuesday's recycling will be collected on Wednesday, December 27. Thursday's recycling will be collected on Friday, December 29, and Friday's recycling will be collected on Saturday, December 30. Similarly, during the week of New Year's Day, Monday's waste and recycling collection will be delayed until Wednesday, January 3, and Tuesday's recycling will be collected on Wednesday, January 3. Thursday's recycling will be collected on Friday, January 5, and Friday's recycling will be collected on Saturday, January 6.
The Fayetteville Regional Airport administrative offices will be closed on December 25, December 26, and January 1. However, all other airport operations will continue as scheduled. Travelers with questions about travel or flight schedules are advised to contact their respective airlines directly. Additional information can be found on the airport's website at www.flyfay.com.
The Fayetteville Area System of Transit (FAST) will not be operational on December 25 and January 1. However, regular operating hours will resume on December 26 and January 2. The FAST administrative offices will also be closed on December 25, December 26, and January 1.
The Fayetteville-Cumberland Parks and Recreation (FCPR) administrative offices will be closed on December 25, December 26, and January 1. Recreation centers will operate on an abbreviated schedule of 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on December 26 and January 1, while recreation centers and gated parks will be closed on December 25. However, trails and open green space areas will remain open and accessible to the public.
