The Fayetteville Fire Department (FFD) is hosting two candidate orientation sessions for people interested in applying during the annual recruitment period.

The sessions are held 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. on:

• Saturday, Nov. 18 at (Location)
• Saturday, Dec. 9 at (Location) 

Candidate orientation sessions provide an opportunity to learn about the organization, testing, the hiring process and practice each component of physical abilities test. The FFD also offers interview skills training during the orientations. The sessions prepare potential candidates for the application and selection process beginning in January 2024. 

To register for a Fayetteville Fire Department candidate orientation session, email Captain Stephen Shakeshaft at stephenshakeshaft@fayettevillenc.gov with the following information: name, phone number and orientation session date. Each candidate may only attend one session and pre-registration is required.

Attending a candidate orientation is not required to apply during the open recruitment period. It is highly encouraged for those who have questions about the testing, selection or a career in the fire service to attend.
