The latest movie from filmmaker Dinesh D’Souza, “Police State,” is coming to a Fayetteville movie theater

The latest movie from filmmaker Dinesh D’Souza, titled "Police State," will be coming to a Fayetteville movie theater on Oct. 25.

This film explores what D’Souza refers to as "police state" activity by the government, from the aftermath of the "Patriot Act" following 9/11 to more recent events such as COVID lockdowns and social media censorship. The movie also delves into the prosecution of concerned parents at school board meetings and the surveillance and detention of Americans present in Washington, D.C. on Jan. 6, 2021.

D’Souza spoke about the timeliness of the film, stating, "I honestly wouldn't have believed, prior to the 2020 election and prior to Biden coming to office, that I’d be making this movie. Which really shows that we have seen a speedy introduction of the police state on many different levels."

The movie features D’Souza himself, along with actor Nick Searcy, and includes interviews with U.S. House Judiciary Chairman Jim Jordan (R), radio host Dan Bongino, and several government whistleblowers.

The film's trailer has already garnered significant attention, with 74 million views on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter) at the time of publication.

The movie will be shown at AMC Market Fair 15, located at 1916 Skibo Rd., on Oct. 25 at 7 p.m. For those unable to attend the Fayetteville showing, additional viewings are listed on the movie's website in Asheville, Greenville, and other communities.
