City of Fayetteville Fire Department issued the following announcement on Jan. 16.
CPR saves lives! Many of us witnessed this event first hand on national TV last week.
Did you know that over 350,000 cardiac arrests occur outside the hospital in the U.S. every year?
More than 70% of those cardiac arrests occur at home and the likelihood of survival decreases with each minute that passes.
The chances of survival can double or even triple if CPR is administered immediately.
The Fayetteville Fire Department, in partnership with Cape Fear Valley Health System, has taken the initiative to provide FREE training for Hands Only CPR to the citizens of our community.
We are hoping that this training will better prepare us all to rapidly assist our fellow citizens in the event of a cardiac emergency.
