Hoke County Schools issued the following announcement on Feb 14.
Hoke Wrestling competed in the 4A Mideast Regionals hosted by Pinecrest February 11-12. We had four nwrestlers advance to the State Championship which will be held in Greensboro on February 17-19. Congratulations to all of these Bucks student-athletes!
138 Landon Nelson 4A Mideast Regional Champion
145 David Coptsias 2nd place
152 Cedric Griffin Jr 2nd place
220 Geronimo Oxendine 4th place
Individual results:
Landon won by decision 14-7 over Matthew Foil of Lumberton
David lost by pin in the 3rd period to Luke Rider of Holly Springs
CJ lost by pin in the 2nd period to Jackson Buck of Lumberton
Genronimo lost by decision 8-1 to Will Brock of Pinecrest
The team came in with a 4th place Regionals finish.
