CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE: City Leaders Prepare For Possible Wintry Conditions

Snowwalk

City of Fayetteville issued the following announcement on Jan. 26.

City of Fayetteville leaders will monitor forecasts which call for cold temperatures, rain and possible light snow. Any necessary decisions made about City service adjustments due to wintry weather will be distributed to media outlets to help spread the word as the situation evolves.

In preparation for any potential impacts, City staff members hope residents, visitors and drivers plan ahead and avoid unnecessary risks.

“No matter how much accumulation we see, make good decisions,“ Emergency Management Coordinator Scott Bullard said. “Your life is important. It doesn’t take much snow to pose a hazard, slick roads can be deadly. A weather event can change your life. We’ve seen what a vehicle crash, wind and even power outages can do.”

Many City services such as Police Reports and Permit applications can be accessed online. Departments also recommend phone calls to assist with research and questions during operational hours.

Additional updates will be provided as needed and will be posted to the City’s website and social media.
