City of Fayetteville issued the following announcement on Oct. 28.
Operating hours for Jordan Soccer Complex will expand following the addition of new lights. Light installations wrapped up on Oct. 22. New lights allow for more competition and play on all fields. The soccer complex includes eight fields, public parking and access to the Cape Fear River Trail. Facility usage will include Fayetteville-Cumberland Parks and Recreation (FCPR) and Fayetteville Soccer Club programming, travel tournaments, and passive or scheduled public use. The complex is located at 445 Treetop Drive, Fayetteville, NC 28311.
The City of Fayetteville operates the Jordan Soccer Complex through a partnership and lease with Methodist University. The Fayetteville City Council approved nearly $2 million for soccer complex improvements. The money comes from the March 2016 voter-approved Parks and Recreation Bond Referendum.
“This is a game changer for Fayetteville,” Fayetteville-Cumberland Parks and Recreation Director Michael Gibson said. “Our residents deserve world, class 21st century Parks and Recreation facilities. People from down the street and all over can come to the complex. They can easily access the Cape Fear River Trail. Many people will benefit, and hopefully the soccer complex will drive more customers to nearby businesses.”
