State Rep. John Szoka (R-Fayetteville) said that the state, as well as the nation's, law enforcement is threatened by the left.

His comments came in an Oct. 5 Facebook post where he said the North Carolina Sherriff Police Alliance endorsed his reelection bid.

"Law enforcement across our nation and NC are facing a dangerous left agenda that threatens to cut critical resources," Szoka wrote in the Facebook post. "I am proud to be endorsed by the NC Sheriff Police Alliance — they trust that I will continue to protect and advocate for all LEO's in the NC House."

The Republican lawmaker said in his Facebook post that he was proud to receive the alliance's backing. Szoka has served four terms in the House. He has lived in Fayetteville since 1994 after he retired from active duty in the military and chose to stay in the area, according to his website.
