The State Employees Association of North Carolina (SEANC) recently said it endorsed state Rep. John Szoka (R-Cumberland), support that Szoka returned.
In a Sept. 15 Facebook post where he announced his endorsement by the SEANC, Szoka praised the organization to those who it represents for the work they do on behalf of state workers.
"SEANC works hard to protect and improve your workplace benefits like pay, health care, and retirement security," Szoka wrote in the Facebook post, "and they know I will too."
Szoka is one of 21 House Republicans to make the employees association's list of endorsements, which includes 42 Democratic members of the House of Representatives.
A statement that accompanies the list said that the endorsements are through SEANC's Employees Political Action Committee (EMPAC), a member-led subsidiary of the organization. The approvals are based on recommendations that are received from the district level from SEANC members.
