Fayetteville is shifting the way it conducts business in the Development Services Department starting in October.
On Thursday, Oct. 1, the municipality will no longer accept development plans on paper, Fayetteville leaders said in an August statement.
They must be submitted through an online portal already used by several architects and builders, Fayetteville leaders said, in the statement, about the policy change. The portal has helped streamline the process creating quicker reviews.
It was launched in 2019 and the city has had the opportunity to ensure a smooth transition to using an online format on a full-time basis. Builders can visit https://fayetteville.idtplans.com/secure/ to create an account.
“This move continues to show our ability to not slow down during COVID restrictions. It is another way for reviewers to be transparent and accountable to our customers. It also saves them time, money, and headaches tracking down what is happening to their plans,” Development Services Director Gerald Newton said in the statement. “The portal offers customers around the globe the opportunity to interact with us.”
