Cost of college went up for all students at Fayetteville Technical Community College

In-state tuition and fees rose 0.6 percent for 2018-19 at Fayetteville Technical Community College, according to recent data from the U.S. Department of Education.

North Carolina residents paid $2,544 to attend the two-year public institution this year – $16 more than the $2,528 charged for 2017-18.

Non-residents paid 241.5 percent more than residents this year, or $8,688. Their price tag grew 0.2 percent from $8,672 in 2017-18.

About 94 percent of the school's undergraduate population are North Carolina residents. And about 6 percent are residents of other states.

Data shows 82 percent of full-time undergraduates who started school in 2015-16 received student financial aid in some form. In all, 821 students received grants or scholarships totaling $4.2 million and 603 students took out student loans totaling more than $3.4 million.

Including all undergraduates (11,534), 6,571 students used grants or scholarships totaling $27.2 million, and 4,506 students took out $18.6 million in federal student loans.
