68 percent of applicants to Fayetteville State University were admitted for fall 2018

At Fayetteville State University, 60 percent of undergraduate students are traditional students - age 24 or younger - and 68 percent are female, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The four-year public institution in Fayetteville enrolled 6,318 students in fall 2018, including 5,473 in undergraduate and 845 in graduate programs, data shows. 17.3 percent of undergraduates transferred from another college or university.

92 percent of undergraduates are residents of North Carolina, and 4 percent are residents of other states.

The undergraduate student body is comprised mostly of students who identify as Black or African American (59 percent) and white (18 percent).

The school admitted 68 percent of the 4,130 students who applied for fall 2018. Of those who were admitted, 22 percent enrolled.
