Rep. John Szoka (R-Cumberland) is reminding constituents that the Department of Environmental Quality is holding a meeting to collect public information about the PFAS/GenX at Chemours facility on Tuesday, Aug. 4.
"The Dept. of Environmental Quality will host a virtual community meeting on PFAS/GenX in the Cape Fear River Basin," Szoka said in a July 22 Facebook post.
The Department of Environmental Quality meeting will take place virtually, starting at 6 p.m., according to the event announcement. The meeting will target PFAS contamination at the Chemours Fayetteville Works Facility. The public can also participate by phone or the WebEx link, which are on the website.
The meeting will provide updates about actions on the February 2019 Consent Order and officials will also discuss drinking water well sampling results, according to the website. Members will also include updates from the divisions of Waste Management, Air Quality and Water Resources.
The Community Involvement Plan will also be discussed by officials from the Department of Health and Human Services.
