Fort Bragg soldiers of the 647th Quartermaster Company joined in the fight against COVID-19 by producing 600 cloth face masks per day, according to WSET News 13, and Rep. John Szoka, (R-Cumberland) is expressing his gratitude for their efforts.
Szoka thanked the soldiers for helping to "fight the spread of the virus," on his Facebook page in late April.
Parachute riggers are using their talents to make the personal protection equipment for personnel on the army base, according to WSET News 13.

North Carolina State University donated the materials used to make the masks, WSET News 13 reported.
Anthony Williams, Company Commander Captain told WSET News 13, his soldiers are embracing their new duties.
“It shows you that you don’t necessarily have to be in combat to make an impact or overseas,” Williams told WSET News 13. “You can do that right here in the United States.”
Soldiers from the 647th are not the only ones making PPE on the base. The 188th Brigade Support Battalion are making face shields with 3d printers, according to WSET News 13.
