Congressman Richard Hudson (NC-09) has expressed his support following the signing of The One Big Beautiful Bill Act by President Trump at the White House on July 4th. This legislation aims to provide significant tax relief, bolster fiscal responsibility, enhance border security, and prioritize working families.

In a statement, Congressman Hudson remarked, “The One Big Beautiful Bill Act is the most pro-worker, pro-family, and pro-America legislation we’ve seen in decades. It means bigger paychecks for middle class families, stronger borders, a stronger military, and more freedom for every North Carolinian. I’m proud to help steer this fight, and under President Trump’s leadership, we’re just getting started.”

For North Carolina residents specifically, the act promises increased wages ranging from $5,500 to $10,500 and higher take-home pay between $7,200 and $12,200. Notably, there will be no taxes on tips or overtime. Additional provisions include support for farmers and veterans as well as incentives for Made-in-America manufacturing.

Key elements of the bill include preventing a major tax increase in American history while providing historic economic relief with an average 15% tax cut for those earning between $15,000 and $80,000 annually. The act also aims to double small business expensing and permanently renew Opportunity Zones to boost investment in rural areas.

Family-focused measures involve making the Child Tax Credit permanent and expanding childcare access. Investments in rural America include enhancing crop insurance and improving market access for farmers.

Fiscal measures aim to slash deficits by approximately $2 trillion while protecting taxpayer dollars by eliminating wasteful spending in federal programs. Safety initiatives feature funding for missile defense systems and significant upgrades to the Coast Guard.

Air traffic control modernization will receive $12.5 billion for system overhauls aimed at improving safety and efficiency. Border security efforts include hiring additional personnel for ICE and Customs while completing the border wall.

Finally, energy initiatives focus on ending restrictive permitting processes to unlock domestic resources while refilling strategic reserves depleted during previous administrations.
