(Fayetteville, N.C.) – The Fayetteville Fire Department is partnering with Safe Kids Worldwide to host a Child Passenger Safety Check on May 19 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Target parking lot located at 2056 Skibo Road.

Certified car seat technicians will be on-site to check car seats, educate residents on child passenger safety and answer questions. Child safety seats reduce the risk of fatal injury by 71% for infants and 54% for toddlers, but more than half of car seats are not installed properly.

Three fire stations serve as permanent car seat check stations in the City. Individuals can call their nearest station to request a car seat check. Checks take place Monday through Saturday 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Appointments may change due to emergency responses.
