County of Cumberland issued the following announcement on Nov. 27. 

 The Cumberland County Public Library will host a Friends of the Cumberland County Public Library Book Sale Nov. 29 – Dec. 11 to benefit library programs and services.

Members of Friends of the Cumberland County Public Library, Inc. will have an opportunity to shop by appointment from Nov. 29 – Dec. 4. Appointments will be available for non-members Dec.6 – 11. For both groups, appointments will be 3 time slots each day: 9:30 to 11:30 a.m.; 12:00 to 2:00 p.m.; and 2:30 to 4:30p.m. To make an appointment or ask a question, call (910) 483-7727 ext. 1326 and leave a message. A volunteer will return your phone call. Appointments can be scheduled starting today

Due to COVID restrictions we are limited to 25 people (including volunteers) in the room at one time.

The book sale will take place at the Cumberland County Public Library Headquarters Building located at 300 Maiden Lane in Fayetteville. All current Cumberland County mask mandates will be followed during this event.

Current members need to bring their membership card. If misplaced or lost, a volunteer will check for your name on our membership list. If not a current member, please join before calling. Join online using your by visiting https://cumberlandcountylibraryfriends.com/  or go to any library branch and complete a membership form. A membership will be valid until Dec. 31, 2022.

It is recommended that people attending the book sale provide their own container to transport their purchases home as one will not be provided.
