City of Fayetteville issued the following announcement on Oct. 24.

City of Fayetteville, NC Government has been recognized by the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) for outstanding budgeting presentation.

 The City’s Budget & Evaluation office recently received notification of the receipt of GFOA’s Distinguished Budget Presentation Award for the annual budget adopted in June.  

In order to receive the award, the City had to meet nationally recognized guidelines for a budget document that serves as a policy roadmap as well as a financial plan and operational guide.

 The presentation is an effective communication tool to encourage resident engagement in local government operations.
