City of Fayetteville Police Department issued the following announcement on Jan. 16.

Detectives with the Fayetteville Police Department are requesting the public’s assistance in locating a wanted subject, Jason Charlie Baird, White male, 39 years of age. Baird was found to be in possession of a stolen motor vehicle out of South Carolina with a truckload of stolen property from the city and county.

Recently, officers responded to a call for a well-being check on a male subject that was passed out behind the wheel of a truck. As officers arrived to investigate, they identified the subject as Baird. The subject took off from the interaction and eluded capture.

Further investigation has revealed that Baird is also responsible for the theft of a second motor vehicle from within the city limits.

Baird has numerous outstanding felony warrants for Breaking and Entering of a Motor Vehicle (4 counts), Attempt Breaking and Entering of a Storage Unit, Breaking and Entering of a Storage Unit (4 counts), Financial Card Theft (3 counts), Felony Larceny, Felony Possession of Stolen Goods, Misdemeanor Larceny (2 counts), Misdemeanor Possession of Stolen Property (2 counts) and Misdemeanor Larceny of a License Plate.
