City of Fayetteville Police Department issued the following announcement on Dec. 26.

Kemberle Braden has been selected as the next Chief of Police for the Fayetteville Police Department. Braden will begin his duties following the retirement of Police Chief Gina Hawkins in late January, who has served in this role since 2017. 

“Throughout the entire process, Chief-Select Braden has shown us his authenticity, professionalism, leadership, desire to serve and dedication to our City and this police department. I am confident in his ability to lead the Fayetteville Police Department into the future with innovation and collaboration.”  – Doug Hewett, City Manager
