City of Fayetteville issued the following announcement on Dec. 26.

Do you know any residents who have made a positive impact in our community? 

 The Fayetteville-Cumberland Human Relations are seeking nominations for the 2023 Community Awards.

 The Community Awards are where the Commission recognizes residents who have promoted positive human relations in Fayetteville and Cumberland County in order to make our community a better, more harmonious place to live, work, and recreate.  

There are 9 award categories: Youth Award, Humanitarian Award, Lifetime Achievement Award, Individual Award, Industry/Business Award, Educator Award, Military Award, Religious Leader Award and Organization Award.

The awards will be on February 15, 2023 at the Fayetteville Botanical Gardens from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tickets are for sale and sponsorship opportunities are available.  

The funds raised at the Community Awards provide the Human Relations Scholarships to high school seniors who aspire to attend higher education.
